  • Fortunato Construction Group’s Greens for Good Charity Golf Event raised $31,000.

  • This year’s event supported Work Vessels for Veterans (WVFV) – Equipping Veteran Enterprises.

  • Over 125 golfers attended the event at Lake of Isles Golf Club on September 25th.

Fortunato Construction Group’s Greens for Good charity golf event raised $31,000 for CT-based Work Vessels for Veterans. The event’s turnout showed strong support for the non-profit’s mission, despite rainy conditions.

Over 125 golfers and supporters gathered to play for an important cause: service-injured Veteran support. Among the attendees, Veterans Major Justin Culverwell (MA Army National Guard), SGT Benny Hernandez (MA National Guard), and SGT Tracy Hillman (USAF and US Army) represented 2023 WVFV awardees.

SGT Hernandez partnered with WVFV to grow his home improvement business Benny Blanco Decking Company in Enfield, CT. Major Culverwell received specialty woodworking tools for his business Brookfield Garrison, in Westfield, MA. And SGT Hillman will receive resources to cultivate her organic farm Grandma’s Veteran Garden in Plymouth, MA.

Attendees were honored to have USMC Veteran Kevin McCarthy start the day with the National Anthem and the U.S. Navy Silver Dolphins perform a stellar rifle drill and presentation of colors to start the evening program. An online and live auction offered a wide variety of unique items including a team-autographed Boston Bruins Jersey (2020/21 team) generously donated from TD Bank.

“We are honored to work in support of Work Vessels for Veterans, and help fundraising efforts towards Veteran business and career enterprises,” said FCG CEO Lindsey Fortunato. “Our team has been excited to get behind this event and cause. We are beyond grateful for the support from our clients, contractors, sponsors, and donors.”
