Our Team is our Family; Our Family is our Team

At Fortunato Construction Group, we treat our team like family because much of our team IS family.  We know that when people feel safe, secure, respected, and valued, they're happier, and they can be more successful in their work.  Perhaps that's why so much of our team has been with us for 15, 18, and even 20 years!  As we have grown over the years, we've seen careers flourish, and we've welcomed new team members for what we hope will be many, many years of fulfilling, gratifying, and exciting partnerships at Fortunato Construction Group.

We were recently recognized as the Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce's Family Business Award recipient.  We're proud to have received this honor.  It reminds us every day of the guiding principle we share with our employees and our clients: We're all family here.

Safety Doesn't Happen By Accident.

At Fortunato Construction, safety is at the heart of every project we undertake.  Our team of construction professionals is led by our safety officer, who manages a formal safety program for all field and office personnel, and all of our subcontractors.  We are frequently reviewing regulatory requirements, and inspections are conducted weekly to immediately address any concerns.

All field and office personnel have been issued a Safety program Manual/Injury and Illness Prevention Program.  It is our policy to provide a healthy and safe work place for our employees and project personnel.  We make every effort to eliminate hazards that can cause injury to workers, or damage property and equipment.

Our safety procedures include:

  • Orientation and sign-off by every subcontractor on site to confirm adherence to site safety regulations
  • Weekly superintendent-led subcontractor job site safety meetings
  • Regular safety inspections by Fortunato Construction Group's Safety Officer to ensure all regulations are met
  • 24-hour emergency contact names and phone numbers of management personnel
  • On site safety kits including hard hats, safety glasses, and hi-visibility vests for clients, visitors, and other guests on site

Fortunato Construction Group is proud of our safety culture, and our long history of safe construction practices.

At the very core of our values lie gratitude and generosity.  We wholeheartedly believe in caring for the community that has been our home for more than 25 years.  Fortunato Construction gives back to our community, and the causes that are closest to our hearts, year after year.  We support local organizations including little league, and Berlin UpBeat.  We share in the causes our clients are passionate about, participating in the Bob's Cares For Kids annual golf outing, and the University of Saint Joseph's Scholarship Gala.  We encourage our team to pursue the causes that mean the most to them, and we have recently matched contributions to the Idleman Family's March for Babies, when they participated in the March of Dimes walk.

Every day, we're grateful for our community, our clients, and our team.  We believe that every day is another opportunity to demonstrate our gratitude.
